As planned, on the Sunday 10th February 2008 we attended the wedding in Malacca. We left in separate cars; Wan & Atuk followed Mami and Uncle Li while I was with Pa & Ma...who else? Uncle Li left about 15 minutes earlier than us at 9.00am with Pak Ngah (Wan Acik's) son in convoy.
We all took the Linggi-Lubok Cina route as agreed. To our surprise, we reached the place earlier than Atuk & Wan. It turned out that they took the wrong road and almost ended up driving back to PD. They eventually arrived half hour later.
It was a sunny day and most of the guests have not arrived yet. We managed to get a parking space in the neighbour's compound.

The 'Pengantins' taking shelter under a tree before the 'Berarak' procession began.
A closer look; the groom is Wan's grand nephew...that makes him my cousin.
The 'Berarak' procession was just a short 50m walk accompanied by the traditional 'kompang' group made up of teenagers.
The 'Pengantins' entering the house with Ma & I peeking from behind the curtain.
The 'pelamin' in the green theme in the background.
The eating area at the compunds
Uncle Li, Mami with Ma & I had our food at 11.30am...long before the main crowd arrived. Plain white rice served with sambal kupang, beef curry, labu masak lemak, sambal belacan, ulam made a beautiful combination for a great makan. For dessert, there were bubur kacang and tapai.
Thats us making a head start with the yummy food.
Once the 'Pengantins' had left the pelamin for their meal, we made the most of the opportunity to take some photos.
The shy little flower girl
On the 'Pelamin'...but on the wrong side.
We could not resist having our family shot...with Mami's assistance.
Ladies from Rantau
By 3.00pm we were ready to leave the wedding with packed food to take away.
We all decided to take the PD route home passing through Pasir Panjang and crossing the Kuala Linggi bridge. We detoured to PD Blue Lagoon to take a break on a low tide while Uncle Li carried on towards PD.
Enjoying the view of the sea in my yellow hat tourist look.
Small group of people scattered along the beach.
Later we stopped by The Store in PD...and I got myself a nice pair of slippers and the arm band float (this should come in use the next occasion I get to go to a swimming pool).
Me and my messy face after a cup of creamy yogurt.
It was a packed Sunday and we went back to Rantau a happy tired lots. We put up the night at kampung as Pa was tired to drive back to Seremban. He was already prepared for that.
Thanks Pa & Ma for the great day.
