Rock Baby Rock

Its the last day of January 2008 today...and its leaving us all whether we like it or not.

Whatever it is, we have to make the most of the day...and what a fun day I had with Ma. The routine of seeing Pa off to work can be an emotional affair at times as I hate to be left behind; at least thats what I felt when I see Pa driving off to work.

Ma would feed me her special homemade porridge as usual and give me my milk, things she does religiously day in day out.

Here are some activities I had with Ma and Pa.

Whats this Alisya in Motion action?

Lets try out this bandana I see Ma wear many times before...should be cool!

Hows that for a Rocking Baby? Cool?

This afternoon, Pa dropped by at home on his way to Senawang Industrial Area. He bought a variety of Malay kuih from the stall at Jalan Jelebu near Ampangan traffic lights...there were karipap, kuih pelita, kuih bengkang among them. How thoughtful of Pa.

As usual, I cried to see him off.

Now. what do you think I am doing standing with my favorite 'Jumbo' and the pacifier in my mouth?

...and with a yellow rubber duck on my tummy while lying down?

Its my usual bedtime entertainment...the sing-a-long animal CD. It refused to play earlier today after my saliva and finger marks covered its surface. Like some magic, it worked after Pa gave it a good rinsing under the tap.

Evenings are always reserved for playtime with Pa...going through the flash cards and animal books. Pa would tickle and make faces to make me laugh my head out and Ma would join in the fun. Its a good recipe to make me really tired and go to bed early.

By 9.30pm its bedtime for me...what a day!

In The Kitchen...Lesson With Ma

Its Wednesday, 30th January 2008 today... just another day left of January, one whole month gone in a blink of an eye.

The day started as usual...seeing Pa off to work. Later, I had further lesson in life...this time its in the kitchen.

I have been hearing the pounding sound from the kitchen all these while and today I had the opportunity to try out the pounder...with Ma's close supervision.

Come see me in action.

Hmm...this thingy is quite heavy.

No wonder...it should be done while sitting not squatting!

We bought some yogurt in Giant yesterday; today I was allowed to handle the yogurt myself. We got them in various flavours...the melba peach was the one Ma gave in the morning.

Do I like yogurt? These pix should answer the question.

Ribena is another drink I really love.

This is not a protest but a way to get Ma's attention.

Having my Ribena lying down.

Pa came back from office a little later than usual today after dropping by to see Bang Teh in school. Its about his application to continue his Form 4 in SM Sains. Wish him all the best!

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These...

Afternoon siesta is a must for a little girl like me...to recharge for more activities later in the evening.

Today, Tuesday is no exception and I would normally doze off for an hour or so after a nice warm milk.

Now, isn't that a picture of calmness

After a nice peaceful rest, I would be really charged up for playtime. Of course I have only Ma as my play partner. I would do all sort of things to get her to be involved involved in my games.

How about this peek-a-boo using the colander?

This one really got Ma in stitches with the colander over my head and the handle sticking out like that.

By 6pm, Pa would have arrived home from work and I'd be eagerly waiting for him in the doorway grinning from ear to ear. I'd be turning my attention to Pa by then; a time for Ma to take a breather after a whole day having to bear with my antics...which she doesn't mind at all.

With Pa around, I get to play with more stuff...like this mouse.

I wound even try it on the floor, scrolling the little wheel in the centre.

If thats not enough, I'd dangle my legs while seated on the sofa with the poor mouse still in my hands. Isn't it great to be kids?

Later that evening we went out to get some groceries and other food items in Senawang Giant. The place was not packed which made our trip there faster.

Its the orange season again with CNY just round the corner. A box like this one is going at less than RM10

On the way back, Pa bought mihun soup at the Two Dia Soup Utara at Taman Satria. By this time, I was already asleep in Ma's warm cuddle.

Now, these are what makes my dream sweeter!

Life Lesson No. 2 ... Practical

On Sunday (27 January 2008) morning, before leaving for KL to visit Wan at Mama's place, I had some time to look at Ma's little garden while giving my Gardening Lesson a test.

I was in my jeans & blouse outfit with my red shoes, so I had to take extra care not to get myself dirty. The sun was coming up and the morning heat made me sweat.

As a result of that, Ma had to change me into a dress to go to KL.

Checking out the new arrangement...the frangipani used to be there

Carefully removing some foreign material from the plant with the frangipani in its new location below.

After a change of attire, we left our home for KL.

Sunday At Sri Manja

On Saturday night, during dinner Pa suggested to Ma that we go up to see Wan who is now with Mama and family after staying with Mak Lang for a short while. Pak Su drove all the way to Simpang 4 to fetch Wan during the recent Thaipusam holiday.

So, on the Sunday (27th January 2008), we packed some stuff and set off for KL. We left Seremban about 11.00am reaching KL at noon.

As it was about lunch time, so Pa decided to head for Plaza OUG to break for lunch and buy some 'buah tangan' at the Giant outlet before going to Mama's house. Afterall, we did not inform Mama that we were coming...kind of a surprise visit. It was a really hot afternoon; Ma was concerned that I might get rashes if exposed in the hot sun for too long. Fortunately, the parking area was near the shop lots...so we had shaded walkway all the way to Plaza OUG.

After lunch we went straight to Mama's place. The usual visitor's car park within the compound had been removed under a new security management company. We had to find parking space by the roadside. Ma spotted a nice vacant space which was right in front of Pak Su's car.

We had a great time at Mama's place. Wan was happy and equally surprised to see us at the main door. We were glad to make that trip as we met Pak Su & family with Mak Ngah & Kak Cik who had spent the night there.

The rest of the days happening at Mama's place is best told in the following captioned photos captured by Pa.

A large billboard by the roadside reminded us of poor little Sharlinie who is still missing till today.

A very hot afternoon sun greeted us at Plaza OUG

Lunch was at this Mamak ABC outlet with the usual curry, curry & curry fare to 'choose' from.

Ma waited patiently at one of the table while I accompanied Pa to make his pick. We were back with Pa's choice to join Ma soon after.

Papadum was served in a small plate which I had as snack.

Ma's Mi Goreng Mamak Pedas and Pa's white rice with lamb curry, some veggie and omelette.

A little fountain decorated the ABC Outlet

We just had to take a closer look at the simple water feature with koi swimming in the waters.

We also took along items Wan & Atuk Rantau had bought during their recent Hajj to share with Wan and Mama & Family. It was also rezeki for Mak Ngah & Kak Cik and Pak Su & Family.

Wan was the first to taste the Air Zam-Zam

I had to make a little adjustment to the new environment. Last time I was here was quite a while back.

At one corner of the house, we spotted the Hari Raya Puasa 2006 group pix taken in Rembau. Kak Nabila, Kak Aina & Abg Luqman keeping us company.

In the kitchen, the ladies were busy rolling the dough for the 'karipap' with Aunty Marina heading the project for tea.

Abang Luqman was his usual self...show stealer. This time he had the attention he wanted...including mine.

Thats Abg Luqman again; this time scaling the grill to the balcony as we watched from below.

Pak Su was not bothered with whats going on around him as he was really enjoying his siesta.

A group shot...but where was Alisya?

A quick dash to Ma to push Abg Luqman away from her...my possessive character.

Now, who is the Boss? Abg Luqman watched as I take charge of the situation...in Ma's lap.

Another group shot before we packed our things to leave for Seremban. Mak Ngah & Kak Cik Nadia also left Mama's place together for their home in Semenyih.

Marching out of the gated area

The customary 'bersalaman' before leaving for Seremban

A signboard reminded the KLites of their forthcoming Hari Wilayah on 1st February which happens to fall on a Friday.

We took the Bukit Jalil exit way and saw the long traffic crawl heading for Bukit Jalil. We then realised that the Anugerah Juara Lagu was on that evening/ night at Stadium Putra. We were lucky to have left earlier. The roads around Bukit Jalil would have been jammed by double parking of people going for the annual local malay entertainment award.

Just look at the trafiic crawl...and it was just 6.50pm!

Pa stopped at the McD Drive Thru just before the Sg Besi toll to buy refreshment. I was really very tired and fast asleep when Pa drove through McD...but Ma looked like she's smiling there with her eyes closed.

We reached Seremban about 8.00pm...stopped by Johan to pack our dinner.

Pa & Ma had dinner while watching the live Anugerah Juara Lagu. The result did not go too well with Ma as she had expected Tok Ti (Datuk Hjh Siti Nurhaliza) or Mawi to get the best song award. Instead, a new band from Sabah, Estranged with one of the AF guy as their lead singer grabbing the RM25K prize for the best song.

Thanks for the trip Pa & Ma and Mama & family for their warm hospitality. They have suggested we come back to spend the night next time.

We probably would take up the invitation...very soon. Thanks.
