Last Tuesday, 8th January 2008 Ma & I got a fright of our lives when there was suddenly a big roar behind our Rantau kampung house.
It turned out that some workers were doing some clearing work of the old rubber plantation plot behind our house. They had this huge excavator mowing down the old rubber trees belonging to somebody in the nearby village...to do replanting works, claims the worker engaged by the decendant of the landowner.
Ma was so worried that she immediately called Pa at work. She also took me out of the house to take refuge at our neighbour's house just in case something untoward should happen.

Just look at the damage they have imparted on nature...just for some quick buck selling the old rubber tree
That evening when Pa came back from work he had a word with two of the workers who were to stay overnight to look after their machinery. Pa also had Uncle Li, Pak Wan and Pak Lang's son to approach them.
We were worried as the two guys were not locals. They confirmed that they were employed by the chinese taukey to look after the excavator for the duration of their clearing works. As precautionary measures, Pa noted the contact number of the taukey.
The have been around every evening so far...even in the rainy night.
Hope they can finish their part soon before Atuk & Wan comes back from their pilgrimage in Mecca.
