Steamboat on New Year 2008

On the evening of the first day of 2008, Pa & Ma planned a dinner out with Mami & Uncle Li. I was automatically part of the plan.

The plan was to have steamboat at Johnny's in Jusco, Seremban 2. Unfortunately, the place was packed and there was a long queue at the door.

The next option was the Rimba restaurant which also served steamboat. The decision was clear...Rimba it was. We left Jusco about 9.15pm in separate cars to rendesvouz at Rimba.

Here's the rest of the stories, in pictures as usual.

The place was rather quiet for a New Year public holiday. Only a few tables were taken as compared to Johnny's at Jusco which had customers queuing at the door.

The other corner of Rimba were seats under huts...equally quiet. Only Zina Zain's songs were played non-stop in place of the karaoke.

I was fast asleep when the order was taken.

Mami helping out Uncle Li to decide on what to eat since he was not so much into the steamboat Pa, Ma & Mami ordered.

A little hiccup...the gas ran out just as we were ready to dump the steamboat ingredients in the pot. The lady in red came back with a new cannister of the gas and we were soon on our way to having steamboat.

By the time the order arrived, I was already awake to join the dinner...mine was the usual Ma's Special Porridge

Uncle Li ordered 'nasi goreng' ketam and chicken soup while we enjoyed our steamboat. We had a tough time trying to finish the steamboat with plenty to serve another 2 persons.

Lovey dovey Mami & Uncle Li

While we were enjoying our steamboat, more customers arrived but still not enough to fill up the place which was okay for us; more peace & quiet while enjoying our food.

We left the place almost 11.00 pm. What a heavy New Year dinner we had.
