Today I get Life Lesson No. 2 from Ma...gardening. Its something Ma loves to do in her spare time and thought she can pass over the interest and skills to me.
After Pa had left for work and I had my breakfast, Ma and I went out to the little garden which had been trimmed during the Thaipusam holiday by Ma. Now its easier and safer to walk in the garden without fear of any creepy-crawly running up our legs.
I was supposed to just watch what Ma was doing but could not help it. My curiosity and eagerness to try out what Ma was doing just got the better of me. As the saying goes, 'if you can't beat them, join them'...which was exactly what I did.
Lets complete the story in the following pictures...courtesy of Ma.

I have been watching Ma picking up things from the other flower pots, so I just had to try for myself...no realising that she had her gloves on.
'See what you have done to yourself, Alisya', says Ma with a hint of being crossed with my adventure. I know she was concerned that I get myself hurt.
Then I saw this mushroom which was similar to the one in my picture book about Lady Bug. I picked it up started my little story telling. Ma spotted me!
As punishment, I was made to sit and watch all the going on in the garden. I started to put on the sad and pitiful face hoping to get sympathy from Ma.
I thought I spotted something moving in the grass. Was it a grasshopper? a cricket?
Down I went on all fours searching for the critters, I thought I saw. That one did not get Ma's approval at all. That was the end of my Lesson No. 2...abruptly stopped before it really began. Well, the sun was already getting high and Ma would not want rashes to appear on my still delicate and tender skin...so, we cleared the garden tools and headed into the house to clean up.
After my bath and change of clothes, Ma let me play with my red ball Pa bought recently.
Now what is this thing on my head stuck to my hair? Oh! Its a hair clip...but I do not have much hair yet to have the hair clip on. Ahh well...I just keep it aside for now. It'll come in useful one day.
That evening Pa came back from work with goreng pisang and goreng keledek...for him and Ma to have for tea. He also bought kuih pelita for me...yummy!
Its been a hectic day for me...called it a night about 9.30pm.
Thanks Ma for the lesson...and Pa for the kuih.
