Balik Kampung Rembau...Pt 2

Its a Friday, our 2nd day at Pa's kampung in Rembau. The day started a little later for the kids after staying up late the night before...it is a holiday after all.

Mama was one of the busiest woman in Rembau on that Friday doing all sorts of cleaning up, indoors and outdoors with her daughters and Ma.

Breakfast was at different times for all, according to the time they get out of bed. Wan Teh gave lemang and pulut kuning with rendang and sambal to add to our meehoon goreng for breakfast.

Wan Teh popping over after being away at her daughter's place like Wan.

It was also a good time to get manicure service from Ma

Later in the morning Pa went to Cengkau with Wan to get things to cook for lunch. Cengkau is still the quiet little town serving the kampung comminity nearby with a wet market, grocery stores run by Malay, Chinese and Indian and food stalls.

For Friday prayers, Pa went with Pak Su...Pa wearing the jubah for the first time, the one Atuk Rantau gave.

Pasar Mini Cengkau...the main mini market next to the wet market with the new food stall in the background.

The mini market has enough selection of items to choose as Wan picks her onions, dried chillies and garlics from the basket.

Catch me if you can: Running around with Abg Luqman while Kak Nabila watched.

I was only allowed to watch the cousins playing out there in the lawn.

Busy as a bee: Thats Mama marching away from the trash to be burned away while Kak Aina protects herself from the afternoon sun and Abang Luqman watched as the fire engulfed the things Mama dumped.

Abang Luqman always in the playful mood running around in the hot sun.

I was only allowed out with Mama under an umbrella.

Clearing the kampung house compound was almost a whole day affair. Mama and family easily walk away with the grand award of the Most Hardworking family for the day.

Kak Cik Liyana clearing some dried leaves. If only Kak Long Ili was in a better shape, she would have joined in the fun.

Well, she did make an attempt to help out despite having cold. I was just curious to see the chicken coup. Most of Wan's chicken had died while she was away...possibly killed by some snake.

Later that night, Mak Lang & family dropped in from an engagement kenduri at Lubok Cina. Pak Lang's niece got engaged to a guy from the north.

Kak Afiqah posing for Pa while Kak Nabila and Kak Ngah pretended to be busy.

Wan was busy as usual...warming the dishes for dinner

Chit chatting before another late dinner.

We could not stay for the night as we had plans for Saturday & Sunday to balik kampung Rantau and attend a wedding in Malacca on Sunday. Pak Su & family and Mak Lang & family also went back home that night leaving Mam & family keeping Wan company for another night.

A group photo shoot before we left kampung.

It was a great balik kampung for me. I had a great time with the cousins and getting to be more comfortable with Wan, Aunties and Uncle.

Thanks to Mama & family for putting up another night at kampung.

Looking forward to more get together like this in future.
