Post-Election "Jalan-Jalan" Pt 2...Ikea & Uptown

The drive from Mid Valley to Ikea was a smooth one with stoppages only at the traffic lights when it turned red.

At 6.10pm we were entering the Ikano Power Center complex with the election banners and flags still up there decorating the street.

Pa would snap a shot of the parking level we park our car. It helps us to find it should we forget after some serious shopping.

Pa & Ma headed straight for Ikea...not to purchase anything just yet but to perform their Asar prayers at the Surau within Ikea. Of course they had to take turns to look after me while one went to the Surau.

All I could do was just wait patiently.

No, this is not a display shelf but an advertisement on the elevator door to Ikea shopping level; a creative way to use space and make the usual boring elevator doors more attractive and pleasing.

The elevator from the parking level is separated from the one that took us to the shopping level and has the doors open bothways. That way one is always moving forward like the elevator in KLIA...you push your trolley through one door and exit through the other...very convenient and customer friendly.

After Asar prayers, we went out of Ikea to check out Brand Outlet. They have lots of 'branded' stuff going at reasonable price.

Just checking the labels on the T-shirt at Brand Outlet

We passed by another lot at Ikano Power Center Complex to be opened soon.

My "carriage" has been turned into a trolley to carry our shopping bags!

Fortunately, there were walkalators in the complex. At least we do not have to rely on the elevator to get from floor to floor.

I had my dinner under the staircase at Ikea near the kids play area...kind of private and out of people's way.

Moving from upper floor to lower floor in Ikea was easy with the elevator. This time the Ikea trolley will carry the stuff we purchase...I want my "carriage" back!
Hi Pa!

I did get a chance to test Ikea's trolley...not bad! Vrooom!

Ma could not resist the gardening area where she chose two potted plants for her garden at home.

Ikea extended their shopping hours to 11.00pm...of course we did not stay until then. We left Ikano Power Center Complex around 10.15pm on a drizzling night.

Pa & Ma decided to have a bite at Damansara Uptown. I was already asleep when they reached there. The usual "pasar malam" has been relocated to another side of Damansara much to the dissatisfaction of the traders and customers...but then again...the local council is the "boss".

Not very easy having to handle a "sleeping beauty" in one hand and operating the phone in another but Ma seem to have acquired the skills.

Nasi Goreng Pattaya for Ma and Nasi Goreng Paprik for Pa...that looked like his usual order most of the time.

This 'Kerabu Betik'/ Papaya Salad or Som Tam is something new they have not tried before.

After dinner, it was an easy drive home. We reached Seremban about 12.30am on a cold and wet morning.

What a Saturday we had ... Election...Mid Valley...Ikea...Uptown... could have been more had time permitted.

Thanks Pa & Ma for the wonderful trip...not forgetting the things you bought.
