Pa's Day Off

Pa had taken the day off today (5th March, 2008) to take Wan Rembau for her scheduled checkup at Klinik Rembau. The 2.00pm appointment had been set much earlier from her previous visit.

The following series of photos were taken with his handset to show just how 'efficient' our Government service is.

2.13pm: Pa dropped Wan at the Clinic entrance.

Thats her No....5080. The irony is that the time indicated on the printed sheet was 12.28pm!!

2.14pm: The waiting game commences. Wan had to sit there for her turn while the counter personnel makes a patient registration record...manually!! What happened to e-govt?

2.37pm: Bilik Saringan...patients have to report here, bringing their own cards with them from the registration counter. What if the patient was a frail old man/ woman? Or handicapped?

2.40pm:
Wan had to bring her card to the consultation room as other patients waited in the chairs provided.

3.26pm: Wan & Pa was still out there waiting for their No. 5080 to appear on the digital display while the number of patients waiting increases.

3.44pm: After the 10minutes consultation, Wan had to bring her prescription card to the Farmasi counter to pick her medication...and the waiting game start again!

3.55pm: Wan collected her medication and had to send her next appointment card to the 'Bilik Saringan' to fix the date...22nd April 2008.

Pa & Wan left the clinic at 3.58pm. Is this called and efficient government service?

In Rembau town, the election for the Rembau Parliament seat is a battle between BN and PKR.

These two guys are fighting for the seat.

The junction to Rembau town from Jalan Tampin was flooded with all kinds of election campaign materials...mostly by BN.

Wan stopped by a fruit stall to buy some bananas...some for me.

Pa came back with the bananas and this Malay kuih and some dishes for dinner...Pa could not say no to all the food Wan packed for Pa, Ma & I.

Pa left Rembau after his Asar prayers driving home on a smooth journey compared to Rembau bound heavy traffic from office workers who were all heading home by then.

Ma decided to tend to her flowers and garden since Pa was around to care for me.

Not for long...as I was very much interested to follow her footstep. Like Mother like Daughter?

At least I could carry some of her gardening tools to her.

Dinner was simple for Pa & Ma; they had to just cook the rice and warm the food Pa brought from kampung. How nice!

Thats my Wan Rembau...just like my Wan Rantau, always going the distance for their children.

So is Pa & Ma for that matter.
