Hari Raya Haji 2007 was a simple affair. We have been spending most of our times at Ma's kampung in Rantau to keep Mami company while Atok & Wan are away for their Haj.
On the Raya morning, Pa went for the Raya prayers at the surau alone since Uncle Li had to work even on Hari Raya.
This year the surau had 4 cows for the 'korban' including one from MB. So there's work to do. After the prayers, Pa came back to change his Baju Melayu to something more appropriate for the korban activity.
All the korban meat were distributed by 3pm...plenty to go round for all the families in the kampong to last for days! Alhamdulillah.
Being Raya, lemang & rendang is a must have delicacy. Wan would normally prepare them for Raya but she's away for Haj with Atok. We were fortunate to receive 3 sticks of lemang; 2 from Wan Acik (with rendang) and 1 from our neighbour. Thats more than enough for the 4 of us...me excluded.
Ma and Mami also prepared rendang (Wan's recipe), nasi empit and kuah kacang. With the lemangs, our Raya food is complete.
No Raya visitors or visiting for this Aidil Adha though. We basically stayed indoor.
Footnote: Sorry! This post should have gone through much earlier..we are on dial-up at Ma's kampung in Rantau. Pa has given up trying to upload his pics on the 'extremely' fast dial-up speed (12kbps!!). We are back in Seremban now.
