Wedding At Batu Kikir

Its Saturday, 10th May 2008 and we have a wedding to attend in Batu Kikir, the place made famous by the song with the lyrics that goes..."Batu Kikir Jambatan Bosi...". The invitation is from Pa's office mate who's brothers, yes 2 of them are getting married on the same day.

It is a working day for Ma; Pa & I sent her in the morning. On our way back home Pa dropped by to get his car washed (scrubbed is more like it) at the nearby carwash. Now that the car is in presentable condition, we stopped by for breakfast; Pa had roti telor.

Soon it was afternoon and its time to pick Ma at her workplace. Ma had earlier in the day prepared all my stuff in the bag, change of clothes and food basket etc.

We did not waste much time as it was just past 1.00pm when we left Seremban for Batu Kikir, stopping at the petrol station to top up some petrol.

It was a hot sunny day all the way to Batu Kikir.

Its my first trip here to Batu Kikir. Pa & Ma had been here before during one of the Hari Raya, so they know how to get to the place.

Having banners like this to welcome guests is becoming common nowadays.

Most of the guests had already left when we reached the pengantin's house, greeted by Pa's officemate and his mother and mother-in-law. The usual fare of nasi minyak and curry was there waiting for us.

Green was the theme of the wedding.
