At Klinik Kesihatan Rantau

I was at Klinik Kesihatan Rantau today... not for me but Wan. Pa took time off to look after me while Wan went for her regular check. Today, they were taking her blood sample for further test.

Her appointment was set for 9.00am but we arrived much earlier. There were others who were there much earlier than us.

The clinic is much smaller than the one in Rembau.

While Wan waited for her turn, Pa took me to the Taman Rekreasi Mini near the clinic. We did not stay long at the park as some workers were cutting the grass nearby and it would not be wise to hang around there for fear of flying objects hitting us.

The little park

Now...why is the lost look here?

We noticed many Indians at the clinic wanting to get treatment of all sort...Rantau has a large population of Indians.

This old lady looked pitiful in the wheelchair

Quenching my thirst in Wan's lap while waiting for her turn.

Wan in the room to get her blood sample taken

By 9.45am everything was done. We stopped by the stall operated by these couple in their golden years. They were actually related to Atuk. Pa decided to get some nasi lemak and local kuih for breakfast.

The customary 'salam' before leaving the stall.

We reached kampung at 10.00am...my face covered in chocolate after having some chocolate twiggies on the way.

Pa had his breakfast and later went back to office leaving me with Wan & Atuk.

Sunday At The Mines

Its been a while since the last update...our daily commuting to and fro Seremban-Rantau really took the toll on us. By the time we get back home in the evening, we are all tired and could not wait to have a good night rest.

Anyway, last Sunday we decided to treat ourselves to a day out; kind of self-rewarding thing.
It was already 11.00am when we left our house...with no specific place in mind. After some thoughts, we decided to head for The Mines in Serdang instead of Alamanda in Putrajaya. The last time Pa & Ma brought me here, I was still a baby...this time I can walk and run around.

Still a nice place with more buldings erected around the main Mines Complex and a highway fronting it.

One has to be alert when approaching the Mines as the road splits abruptly; one going to The Mines and the other all the way to Balakong/ Kajang. Pa almost missed the turn.

The first thing we did was to have our lunch at the food court. They have the usual choices of Malay, Chinese, Thai selection. Pa & Ma went for the Thai set selection.

The entrance to the food court looks grand.

We chose to seat near the glass window overlooking the highway.

Mother-Daughter pose

The white rice and paprik with crackers and a delicate touch of a red chilly on top of the rice.

Its always me that get to eat first with Pa.

"Thats my darling!"

We left The Mines just before 5.00pm...not to go home yet but went to Jusco Cheras Selatan. We were there until Maghrib. Pa & Ma had their dinner at the Arena Food Court of Jusco. It was an easy drive back to Seremban with the KL bound traffic much heavier.

Tired but satisfied.

Slow start of another week...

Its the first day of the fourth week of April today; and being a Monday, the usual 'feeling blues' sets in fast. I was only up at 7.15am after Pa & Ma had dressed up. Must have been the Sunday outing at Pelegong & Nilai that had taken the toll on this little body of mine.

The journey back to kampung in the morning was smooth. The traffic was unusually clear for a Monday.

Pic at kampung with the 'bunga telur' from an event at the local mosque earlier today

In the evening, Pa & Ma came back from work together. Wan & Atuk wanted to attend the Mufti Ceramah at the local mosque. They left before Maghrib; Atuk decided to drive the car as the rain was starting to fall. Atuk does not like to drive but this time he had no other choice.

After dinner, we left kampung.

Its a slow Monday with little activities. Perhaps tomorrow might be different. See you then!

Sunday at Pelegong & Nilai

We stayed indoors almost half the Sunday with Ma busy with her cleaning up and laundry work. Pa went out in the afternoon to get lunch for himself and Ma.

Anyway, the weather was not permitting any outdoor activities as it rained in the late afternoon.

Playing with my educational kids laptop

Now, whats that error message for?

After Asar, when the rain had stopped we left home for Pelegong near Tiroi. Ma had to go there as part of her work. Her workplace had taken some Thai students for a home stay weekend there.

It was our first time there. Luckily Ma spotted her office vehicle on our way there. We only had to follow them to get to the Pelegong Homestay area.

Maybe this is how they got the name Pelegong?

Ma & I could not resist having a shot in front of the Pelegong Homestay signboard.

Group shot with Ma's office mates.

The place caters for tourists to get a feel of country living in typical Negeri Sembilan village. Entertainment is provided in the evening by the local youngsters playing traditional instruments.

When we reached the place, the youngsters were having their practice session.

Taking our pic near the performance stage.

There was a small play area within the compound and I could not resist myself to have a go on the playground items.

The spring horse is popular in many playgrounds.

Yee Ha!

Okay Ma! I've had enough of this item...can we try something else?

Oh Oh! Ma has taken a ride on the swing ahead of me.

That's more like it...swing higher Ma!

We could not stay long at the Pelegong Homestay to watch the musical presentation which was scheduled to start after 8.00pm.

A rare shot of the 3 of us at the swing.

From Pelegong, we headed for Nilai. Pa wanted to treat Ma to the Ayam Golek stall in Nilai. It was Maghrib when we reached Nilai area, so we stopped at the old Nilai mosque.

From a distance, I could spot Ma in ladies prayer area. With Pa's permission, I ran towards her.

The Ayam Golek stall is located about 100m from the Nilai-Labu junction. There were many customers at the stall when we arrived. A queue was building up to pack the Ayam Golek.

Pa & Ma ordered Nasi Lemak Ayam for themselves. Me? The usual porridge.

Pa & Ma's order had arrived.

Let me taste the Nasi Lemak, Ma!

As it was almost 9.00pm, Pa decided to take the highway to return to Seremban. The Labu road is a little quiet and too risky to take at night with just the three of us.

We did stop by Giant in Nilai.

The side entrance view.

In the complex, they have these rides which is FREE!

Nilai also boast its very own night shopping area called Time Out BoardWalk which is something like the UpTown & DownTown in KL.

Unfortunately, the place was a little quiet. Maybe its due to the fact that it was Sunday night and that the place was just recently opened. We'll see how it goes from now on...whether it'll pick up or just suffer a slow death!

Since we were there, Pa got himself one of those China-made torch light to keep in his car for emergency use.

Another rare shot with Pa with the BoardWalk banner in the background.

This is the stall Pa bought his mini-torch

I was so tired that I slept as soon as we got in the car. The journey back was smooth compared to KL bound which was rather busy.

What a Sunday we had despite leaving home late. Tomorrow its back to the usual routine when Pa & Ma is back at work.

Another Saturday At Kampung

Its another Saturday today and I'm back at kampung. On our way back to kampung this morning, we stopped by Ampangan market area to get some breakfast...nasi kerabu; Ma's treat.

After sending Ma to her workplace, Pa & I headed for kampung. Only Wan & Atuk was home; Mami & Uncle Li had left for Rembau...Uncle Li's kampung.

Pa had his nasi kerabu breakfast at kampung with goreng pisang Wan had fried earlier in the morning. Later, Pa went off to Seremban for some errands.

Pa & Ma came back together in the evening.

A stop over to get goreng pisang at Rasah

The 'serambi' windows are open to allow fresh air and light in.

Back in our Seremban home, Ma would teach me some basic housekeeping skills like sweeping the floor.

Here in kampung, I have Wan as my teacher

This is my play area at kampung; so, I need to keep it clean.

Wan was worried to see running around barefooted. So, she made me wear my sandal.

Now...that looks like a special bucket seat, doesn't it?

Wait a minute...its a basket!

I really enjoy getting into the basket...felt like getting into a boat

Here's a view from the top.

Ma was supposed to have a function later in the evening but was canceled. After Maghrib, we left for our Seremban home.

April 2007...Revisited

A year ago in April 2007, I was just 6 months old. Looking back at my photos in April 2007 really made me smile.

To start with, how about this bald chubby look?

I could lie on my stomach and raise my head then.

I also laugh and smile when Pa & Ma made funny faces at me.

I still have that chubby cheek till today, though.

A stark contrast between mother and daughter...smiling v frowning

By this time, Atuk was brave enough to carry me.

Its amazing how I've grown over the 12 months...Suhanallah!
